The Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Digital Media, Jubril Gawat has responded to concerns raised by commuters about the ongoing closure of some parts of Eko Bridge.
In a tweet , Jubril confirmed that the bridge was closed by the Federal Government for six days and is expected to reopen by midnight Wednesday.
“Eko Bridge was closed by FG for 6 days (Costain to Alaka). The 6 days should elapse today. It should be opened by midnight today hopefully,” he wrote.
The closure was necessary to carry out maintenance on the bridge.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi had announced in a statement last week the closure of two ramps on the Bridge for six days for repair.
The closure led to “diverting traffic at Costain Roundabout Ramp to Alaka and Iganmu Ramp to Alaka”, causing significant disruption for commuters.
