- Monthly house rent in Lagos
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Housing, Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, has disclosed plans by the State to enforce a monthly rental system in the state’s real estate market. The policy is set to be implemented by the end of 2024 or early next year.

- Red line district
The Lagos State Government has launched the Lagos Red Line, a new rail line to serve up to 500,000 Lagosians daily, with plans to increase this number to 750,000, complementing the Blue Line and easing commute. The Record curated ten things to know about the new line.

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances that caused the death of three-year-old, Michael, when a fire resulted from a melted candle razed down their compound at Olorunsogo Street, Ejigbo, in Lagos State.
- Stampede in Lagos over palliative rice
Effort to provide palliatives in the wake of worsening economic conditions in Lagos may have had unintended consequences, as Nigeria Customs Service has reported that some persons have died from a stampede at the office when palliatives materials were being distributed to Lagosians, per CNN.
- Four days to quit Lekki
The Lagos State Government has given a four-day relocation notice to squatters to quit roads in Mayegun, Lekki area of the State. The government said it wanted to check the indiscriminate increase in the number of shanties in the area.
