List of Secondary Schools in Ikeja That Charge Millions Of Naira As Tuition

A report by Statista has it that as of 2019, there were about 27 thousand senior secondary schools in Nigeria for not less than 5.2 million students. While these figures are quite alarming, the possibility that they have soared over five years (2024) is high.

Even more concerning is the fact that some of these schools, especially those in metropolitan cities like Lagos, charge tuition fees which some parents and guardians find outrageous, considering the current economic situation in Nigeria.

This article focuses on private schools in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos, where the fees run into millions of naira.

Grange School

Grange School operates as a non-profit educational institution with a core mission of providing qualitative British education in a supportive, caring, comfortable, and suitable environment. The school fee is in the neighbourhood of NGN 4.5 million per year. 

Located at No 6, Harold Hodipo Crescent, GRA, Ikeja Lagos, the institution is one of the three schools in Nigeria accredited by the UK’s Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS). 

Chrisland Schools, Ikeja

Chrisland School has reasons why it charges around N2 million annually as its fee. The institution has spacious and fully air-conditioned classrooms, a cafeteria a basketball court, modern laboratories, a swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art library, among other facilities. It is located at Ladipo Oluwole Avenue, Ikeja.

Vivian Fowler Memorial College

Only for girls, Vivian Fowler Memorial College was established in 1991 to promote the advancement of women through quality and functional education with a range of secondary and tertiary education facilities.

The school offers thousands of students access to knowledge and future professions. It is located at Plot 5, Balogun Street, Billingsway Oregun, Ikeja Lagos. The annual tuition fee here is N2 million.

Cambridge College

In the art of preparing students for practical and real-world scenarios with 21st-century skills to give them a competitive advantage over their peers, Cambridge College is leading.

Combining British and Nigerian curricula and located at 41b Ladoke Akintola Rd, Ikeja GRA Lagos, the yearly tuition is about N1.5 million.

Wellspring College

Founded in 2003 by top-notch academics and educationists, Wellspring College is poised to Bring back standards to Nigeria’s educational system.

Focused on developing students academically, spiritually, mentally and socially, the college is committed to providing a superb curriculum that promotes practical learning

The school, located at 25B Somide Odujinrin Street Omole Phase 2, Ikeja, Lagos, charges about N1.5 million as its tuition.

Avi-Cenna International School

Avi-Cenna International School aims to inculcate in students a strong set of moral values that will allow them to make significant contributions to the world beyond School. Avi-Cenna International School is located at 6 Harold Sodipo Cres, Ikeja GRA Lagos and annual tuition is N1 million.
