2024 UTME: LASU Releases Crucial Information to Candidates on CBT

Ahead of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) slated to commence on Friday, April 19, nationwide, the Lagos State University (LASU) has disclosed some vital information on how the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted.

CBT timetable

Via its official Facebook page on Tuesday, April 2, LASU revealed that the CBT will be in four batches. The institution stated that the first batch will commence by 7am, the second batch is to begin by 9am, the third batch starts by 12 noon and the fourth will be by 3pm.

UTME subjects time-frame
Also, the school noted that the time slots allotted for the four subjects candidates are to write are as follows:
1. English = 60 questions in 40 minutes.
2. 2nd Subject = 40 questions in 27 minutes
3. 3rd Subject = 40 questions in 27 minutes
4. 4th Subject = 40 questions in 26 minutes
According to the university, the above amounts to 180 questions and two hours. It added that 10 questions will be from the JAMB recommended reading text. The school, therefore, advised candidates to use an average 40 seconds to answer each question.

Furthermore, LASU urged candidates to take note of following eight keyboard keys features as they might not be provided with a mouse on the examination day:
A – For option A
B – For option B
C – For option C
D – For option D
R – For Reverse Question
N – For Next Question
P – For the Previous Question
S – For Submit

It went ahead to to inform candidates who intend to be students in its institution to join the WhatsApp group (Lagos State University Aspirant) for more information.

For Direct Entry aspirants, LASU advised them to join the WhatsApp group.

Recall that JAMB had extended the deadline for the Direct Entry (DE) applicants in the ongoing registration process for the 2024 UTME.

The extension, which is for another two weeks, is the second time JAMB will be postponing the deadline for the ongoing DE registration.

JAMB first extended the deadline to 11 April from the initial 28 March. The registration started on 28 February.
