Lekki airport: The state commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said there is no timeline for the completion of the Lekki international airport. “It is something that will be done through public-private partnerships,” Omotoso told Punch Newspaper. “It is not something that one can fix the completion at a particular time. You still have to raise the funding. Already, the site has been identified around the Aiyetoro region. The project is on and it is not something we should worry about.”

Party politics: The Chairman of Agege local government, Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, said there is neither PDP nor Labour party presence in Agege. “Everybody accepts Obasa as his political leader and supremo,” Egunjobi told Tribune Newspaper.

House spending: The State House of Assembly has reportedly spent N200 million on an end-of-the-year celebration, according to Sahara Reporters.

Health infrastructure: Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lagos Medipark, a 140-bed multi-specialist hospital in Ikoyi. “This facility is set to be a transformative healthcare centre for Africa,” the Governor said. The first phase of the project is scheduled for 2026.

Free healthcare: The state government said it has rolled out free maternal and nutritional services for residents between December 16 and 20. Over 1,400 service delivery points have been set up for the exercise, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, said.

Fire outbreak: A storey building at 21, Oduntan Street, Mushin caught fire on Sunday afternoon due to a gas leak from one of the flats, Tribune Newspaper reported.

Drug bust: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it has recovered a shipment of methamphetamine and loud worth billions of naira at the Tincan seaport.

Completed projects: The state government said it will commission completed road and bridge projects in Alimosho local government today, the News Agency of Nigeria reported. The roads include Babafemi Dada with Bridge, Yinka Folarin, Jamiu Lawal and Shalom Academy.

Jungle justice: An angry mob set ablaze a Toyota Venza on Saturday at the Onipanu after the driver was said to have crushed a yet-to-be-identified pedestrian to death, Tribune Newspaper reported.

Ethnic politics: The Chief Executive Officer of Chisco Group of Companies, Chidi Anyaegbu, has rejected his nomination by an Igbo group to confer on him the title of Mayor of Ndigbo in Lagos State, Premium Times reported.

Land tax: Owners of Federal Government-owned lands and houses in Lagos are expected to remit their ground rent to the government, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa said.
