What to expect at Saint’s Bites Shawarma in Omole phase one

At virtually every corner in Lagos, there is a shawarma spot. The Middle-Eastern dish has become a favourite delicacy for many Lagosians. But where do you get the best shawarma in the city?

One possible answer could be Saint’s Bites Shawarma, a food outfit which has outlets in Maryland, Festac, Omole and Ago Palace.

To find out, we visited their outlet at Omole phase one. Their menu features a number of shawarma filling options, including beef, cheese, chicken, suya flavour and prawns. And prices range from N3,100 to N25,000.

If you agree or disagree with our ratings and would like to provide your own review, head over to our review form, leave your review for all 13 criteria and an Ikeja Record editor will be in touch. To maintain the integrity of our evaluation system, we do not accept or publish reviews from persons directly associated with the restaurants they are reviewing, including (but not limited to) owners, investors, and staff.

Menu variety

The menu at Saint’s Bites includes options like acorn shawarma, suya shawarma, and prawn shawarma, alongside mixed combos such as beef, cheese, and chicken shawarma.

This variety caters to different tastes, making it a go-to spot for those seeking new and exciting shawarma flavours.

Food quality

We ordered their suya shawarma and chicken shawarma. The suya shawarma was quite spicy. If you are not a fan of spice, you can request for less spice. The chicken shawarma was creamy and savoury, served hot and freshly made, but it lacked a generous amount of chicken chunks.

@ikejarecord Would you pay N25,000 for a shawarma? Share your thoughts in the comments section! #saintsbitesharwama #sharwamainlagos #sharwamaspotsinlagos #sharwamalover #lagosspots #restaurantreview #foodspotsinlagos #restaurantinlagos ♬ Simple notification sound _02 – MATSU

Service

The staff at Saint’s Bites Shawarma were polite and friendly.

Ambience

The restaurant is a grab-and-go spot with minimal seating. It includes a cooking area and a small bench for waiting.

Value for money

Saint’s Bites shawarma is on the pricier side,  compared to roadside options. The jumbo prawn shawarma, priced at ₦25,000, includes prawns, cheese, and other ingredients.

The chicken shawarma costs ₦3,100 and is slightly larger than the average chicken shawarma  but lacks sufficient chicken chunks. The suya shawarma, priced at ₦3,300, is smaller than the chicken.

When we asked the server the reason for this, they said it was due to more expensive ingredients. Despite the high prices, the shawarmas are considered innovative and worth trying for their unique fillings.

Hygiene standards

Hygiene standards at Saint’s Bites were commendable. The kitchen and seating area were clean and up to standard. Even during rainy weather, the floors remained clean, and the dining area was comfortable.

Location

Saint’s Bites Shawarma is located at No. 2 Omo Fade Crescent in Omole phase one.

Consistency

The ingredients tasted fresh and of high quality. However, as first-time visitors, we can’t say if it has always been this way or if it will remain consistent.

Innovation

Innovation is a key aspect of Saint’s Bites Shawarma, with unique meal options like shrimp shawarma setting them apart from other vendors.

Sustainability

As first-time visitors, we are unaware of their practices regarding ingredient sourcing and waste management, as these details aren’t publicly disclosed. However, our meal was neatly wrapped in paper, which can be recycled.

Waiting time

During our visit, service was prompt. It took about eight to 10 minutes for our order to be placed and ready,

Online presence and ease of reservations

Their online presence needs improvement. The social media pages of Saint’s Bites Shawarma are not very active, with irregular posts and no updates on menu changes or special offers.

However, they offer delivery services on WhatsApp and through food delivery apps such as Chowdeck.

Special features

While Saint’s Bites Shawarma offers a varied menu, it doesn’t quite offer special features such as live music, scenic views, special deals or free Wi-Fi.
