Eight Lagos beach resorts you should visit

Lagos is a coastal city and it boasts a variety of beaches perfect for adventure, relaxation, or a mix of both. 

While Landmark Beach Resort was once a top choice before its recent demolition by the Lagos State Government, many other notable beach resorts continue to thrive, offering unique experiences.

At Ikeja Record, we have compiled some notable beach resorts in Lagos that provide solitude and a serene escape from the bustling city.

1. Ziba Resort

This beach resort, located in Okun-Ajah, opened in 2023 and has gradually gained popularity for its hospitality service and scenic, picture-perfect getaway destination.

They offer day passes for visitors who are not interested in lodging at the resort. These passes cost between N20,000 and N35,000.

Their rooms, which encircle a massive pool that recreates an ocean view, start from N180,000 per night. The facilities at Ziba resort include a game room, cinema, children’s and adult pools, daycare, playground, gym, beachside spa, restaurant, bar, fire pit, and free Wi-Fi throughout your stay.

2. La Campagne Tropicana 

This African-themed forest, river, and beach resort is located in Ibeju-Lekki.

Covering over 65 acres of palm-fringed white sand beach, river, and mangrove forest, the resort offers hut-like chalets of various sizes. The smallest chalet costs N150,000 per night.

Activities include kayaking, beach football, snorkelling, dirt bike rides, and horse riding. The resort also provides a range of camping options, from beach and forest camping to camping by the riverbank.

3. Jara Beach Resort

Jara Beach Resort is an all-white and blue-themed beach resort with 17 ocean-facing rooms, located in Museyo, Ibeju-Lekki.

Their rooms are divided into four categories: studio rooms, villa rooms, family rooms, and lofts. They offer day passes for as low as N40,000 on weekdays and N45,000 on weekends.

Overnight stays range from N120,000 to N225,000, depending on the accommodation option.

The resort offers numerous sports activities, including volleyball, badminton, basketball, pitch and putt golf, sand football, ring toss, hoop toss, French boule (Pétanque), table tennis, and horse riding.

Jara Resort also offers a complimentary early morning guided walk to Eleko and back. Other activities include movie nights, karaoke, tie and dye, Adire making, and DIY painting.

4. Lighthouse Beach House

This beach house has two locations: one on Tarkwa Bay and the other on Ilashe, Snake Island. Both options are accessible via a jetty from CMS or VI.

This tranquil beach house offers an all-inclusive day visit package and overnight accommodation. Their rooms are divided into three options: swim-up rooms, terrace rooms, and family rooms.

Room rates range from N175,000 to N240,000. The day pass costs N35,000 and includes lunch and wine.

Activities are limited to kayaking, rooftop picnics with an ocean view, and swimming.

5. 234 Lofts Beach Resort

This beach house is located along Oba Elegushi Beach Rd, Lekki Phase I.

They offer free day passes to interested visitors, although some facilities are restricted with the free pass. A paid day visit costs N100,000, which includes meals and drinks worth the cost and full access to their facilities.

They have four accommodation packages, with rates as high as N2,500,000 for eight hours only.

6. Whispering Palm Resort

Whispering Palms Resort is located in Iworo/Ajido Town, Badagry, Lagos. It’s a 20-minute drive from the famous Slave Museum in Badagry and about 25 minutes from the French Village.

Facilities include a restaurant, gym, swimming pool, cinema house, museum, and mini zoo. Room rates range from N27,000 to N80,000 per night.

7. Kamp Ikare Resort 

This private beach resort is located along the Lagos coast, near Ikare Village in Badagry. It is a self-catering resort with 12 deluxe ocean-facing rooms.

A day booking costs N1,000,000, while overnight stays range from N1.3 million to N1.5 million.

Amenities include a swimming pool, boat rides, ATV biking, volleyball, and more.

8. Ilashe

This exclusive and private beach haven is on Snake Island, off the Lagos coast, on the Badagry Creek.

It features various beach houses with state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate vacations, parties, and company or private gatherings.

The beach also provides speedboats to transport guests to the various beach houses.

Some of the beach houses in Ilashe include Ilashe Resort, La Casa Ilashe, and HOV Beach Lagos, among others.
