The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has sworn in Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle aka “Sego”, who was treasurer and acting chairman, as the Chairman of the NURTW Lagos State council.
According to The Nation, this event was followed by the inauguration of Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) as the national president of the union.
Chief Anthony Ewa, representing the South East urged the newly sworn in Chairman and exco to show inclusiveness and run an open administration committed to transparency, equity and justice.
In a show of support, representatives of the Lagos State Government urged the new exco to sustain the good relationship and cooperation that has been enjoyed by the bodies and the union.
Adekunle expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and other personalities for their unwavering support.
He described his leadership aspiration as a dream fulfilled and promised to expand the union bigger.
