A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olanrewaju Afinni serves as the representative for Lagos Island 2 Constituency in the House of Assembly.
He was first elected as a legislator in 2019.
From 2019 to 2023, he held the position of chairman of the House committee on science and technology.

Early life and education
Mr. Afinni was born in Lagos in 1984. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Lagos in 2008 and later pursued a Master of Science in Information Systems, a dual-degree program at New York University, combining computer science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and business administration at the Stern School of Business.
The legislator began a career in software development in 2005 as a part-time web developer while still studying at the University of Lagos. He gained further experience as a technical support expert for electronic payment channels and became a Microsoft Certified Professional. He also worked as a SAP Business One consultant, helping clients meet their business needs.
In 2012, he transitioned to a role as a Business Analyst in New York, USA.
Political career
In 2019, Mr Afinni was elected as a legislator, representing Lagos Island Constituency 2 at the House.
From 2019 to 2023, he served as Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology.
He currently serves as the chairman of the House committee on environment.
Legislative work
In May 2024, Mr. Afinni organized a free medical outreach program in Lagos Island.
In partnership with Wema Bank for World Youth Skills Day, he launched the Lagos Island Skillnovation Program 1.0, aimed at equipping young people with essential skills.
He also created the Afinni Fullstack Developers Training program, aimed at equipping young developers with essential skills in both front-end and back-end development.
