Legislative work

Ahead of the 2023 elections, Mushines, a community newspaper covering the Mushin area, published Mr. Akinsanya’s scorecard.

According to the scorecard, Mr. Akinsanya raised a motion on curbing the incessant collapse of buildings in the state.

He also provided power generators for boreholes at different locations around his constituency.

The lawmaker distributed free JAMB forms to indigents students and facilitated the rehabilitation of Abiodun street and the construction of Abiodun primary school.

Mr. Akinsanya distributed four different phases of stimulus packages to his constituency during the COVID-19 lockdown, according to the scorecard.

In August 2023, Mr. Akinsanya led an ad hoc House committee on a visit to the Mosafejo Oworonshoki community, where the Lagos State Task Force recently demolished several buildings, leaving residents homeless.

He stated that the committee’s visit was intended to appeal to the demolition victims to remain calm while the lawmakers investigate the issue.

“We are at the scene at the behest of the Speaker who shares the pain and has asked the agency to stop the demolition with immediate effect,” he said.

In April 2023, Mr. Akinsanya raised a ‘Matter of Urgent Public Importance’ which prompted the House to summon a commissioner and an aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for allegedly bypassing the House in the ratification of contracts before their execution.
