The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos Central Senatorial District has launched efforts to revive its structure and unite stakeholders across the district.
Why it matters: The PDP is one of the few political parties that can challenge the dominance of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos. But it remains unclear whether it can mount a credible challenge in the 2027 elections.
Go deeper: Vice Chairman of PDP Lagos Central, Hakeem Olalemi, announced that the leadership has been touring local governments within the district, holding meetings with stakeholders, and paying visits to party elders like Kofoworola Bucknor and Jimi Agbaje.
Quote: “The team is out to ensure grassroots firmness, mobilize new members, and discuss reliable funding sources that guarantee the party’s independence and superiority,” Olalemi said.
