The Lagos State University Career Development Centre (LCDC) via X on Wednesday urged staff and students of the institution to enroll in free Microsoft Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses for beginners.
According to the LCDC, the programme “will introduce individuals to basic ideas of what it is like to get into AI” such as terminologies, the basics of NLP and Computer Vision.
The programme, which is scheduled to run for three months, has a 24-lesson curriculum and includes practical lessons, quizzes, and labs.
The curriculum also covers tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and AI ethics.
What beginners stand to learn
Among the lessons to be offered in the AI courses are:
- Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
- Neural Networks and Deep Learning
- Neural Architectures
- Genetic Algorithms and Multi-Agent Systems
Content of the lessons
Each of the lessons comes with the following:
- Pre-reading material
- Executable Jupyter Notebooks, which are often specific to the framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Available laboratories for some topics.
- Sections with links to MS Learn modules.
