Labour action: Health Workers across Lagos commenced a three-day warning strike on Wednesday over the non-implementation of a new salary structure.

National grid: Ikeja and Eko Electric said they experienced a system outage on Wednesday that affected supply within its network. “Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders,” Ikeja Electric said. “Kindly bear with us.”

Mark your calendar: Governor Sanwo-Olu is set to host a town hall meeting on security on December 18 at the Lagos House in Ikeja. “On the agenda is the presentation of patrol vehicles and other equipment to security operatives,” a government spokesperson said.

Renewed Hope: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to launch the construction of a 2,000-unit housing project in Ibeju Lekki on December 17 as part of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates programme.

Skill empowerment: The Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation distributed different equipment – stoning machines, pepper grinders, welding machines – to 1,500 beneficiaries. Many of the beneficiaries are graduates from the state’s skill acquisition centres, a government spokesperson said.

Beijing connection: Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the Ambassador of China to Nigeria, H.E Yu Dunhai at Lagos House, Ikeja, on Monday, the state government said.

Royal power: The state government has installed Prince Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

Fire outbreak: A section of the Alaba Rago market in Ojo caught fire on Wednesday morning around midnight, the state emergency management authority, LASEMA, said.

Odd world: A security guard of a telecommunication company based in Ogba has been arrested for stealing and selling the firm’s electricity cable worth N632,000 to a scrap metal buyer for N30,000, the police said.

Crime and punishment: One Bamidele Folorunsho was convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on Wednesday for “indecent treatment and sexual assault of a minor by rubbing her anus and caressing her breasts with his hands,” Punch Newspaper reported.
