The Lagos State #EndBadGovernance movement has announced a protest for Friday, urging the public to demand the release of activists facing treason charges from an August protest. National Secretary of the Youth Rights Campaign, Francis Nwapa, called for action via X. “Now is the time to demand freedom for #EndBadGovernance protesters,” Nwapa said.
He invited supporters to rally at Ikeja Under Bridge at 7am on November 8 to advocate for the activists, including Michael Adaramoye Lenin and Mosius Sodiq. The movement is calling for an end to hardship, fuel price hikes, and anti-poor policies.
“The hunger and hardship are increasing; we can’t continue like this. Reverse the fuel price hike, bring down food prices, reduce electricity tariffs, end corruption, slash salaries and allowances of political office holders, and end all IMF/World Bank anti-poor capitalist policies now,” he added.
