1. Collision
On Friday, a container truck collided with a pedestrian bridge at Alapere Estate, Ketu axis of Lagos. Mr. Umar-farouq Ogbe, a resident of Alapere Estate and an eyewitness, shared videos of the accident on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he confirmed that there were approximately five injured individuals from a bus involved in the incident.

2. Optimal public service
Mr. Bode Agoro, Head of Service of Lagos State, has promised public servants that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will uphold the commitment to physical fitness and mental well-being of all employees, the Punch reported.
3. Ambitious highway
Reporting from Vanguard reveals that President Bola Tinubu plans to begin construction of the Abuja-Lagos Super Highway and Lagos-Port Harcourt Coastal Road, as part of the 2024 budget proposal currently under review by the National Assembly.
4. Public safety
The Lagos State government has sealed 19 event centres for violating safety regulations, endangering public safety. This action was taken by the Lagos State Safety Commission during routine inspections and on-site assessments of event centres across the state, the Leadership reported.

5. Out-of-school children
The Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, announced plans to establish additional technical colleges and vocational centers across the State. This initiative is part of the government’s strategy to combat the issue of out-of-school children.
6. Brand new
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that the Opebi-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge project will be completed in the second quarter of 2024, the Record reported. The bridge will feature pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, and other amenities to ensure safe and convenient travel for all.
7. Appointments
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has sworn in two new members of the State Executive Council: Biodun Ogunleye as Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources and Engr. Olufemi Daramola as Special Adviser on Infrastructure.
8. Disability in Lagos
