Following reports of a suspected cholera outbreak in Lagos state, the management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has informed residents that it has precautionary measures in place.
Via X on Wednesday, LASUTH noted that its healthcare workers as well as other stakeholders have been put on notice in readiness for a possible spread of the disease.
Added to this, the state’s teaching hospital disclosed that good hygiene practices, provision of clean water at all service points and effective treatment of persons with symptoms of gastroenteritis are part of some measures are some of the steps it has already taken.
The institution, therefore, enjoined the public “to stay informed and take preventive measures to help mitigate the spread of the disease.”
The hospital also confirmed a report by Leadership newspaper. The report, published on Tuesday, said scores of patients were presenting cholera symptoms.
