Alaafia Eko: Full list of Lagos health districts to be covered during free medical outreach

In fulfilment of its earlier promise of healthcare delivery across Lagos, the state government on Thursday commenced the first phase of an initiative it termed Alaafia Eko.

Alaafia Eko is a free medical outreach aimed at providing essential healthcare services to 50,000 residents across Lagos.

The outreach, which is the government’s way of assisting Lagosians amid the current economic constraint, will be carried out in six health districts in the state.

Beneficiaries of the initiative will get free check-ups and treatments, including blood sugar and blood pressure checks, HIV counselling and testing, eye examinations and free glasses.

They will also get free treatment of minor ailments, free medications, health insurance and LASRRA registration.
Below are the designated health districts where the outreached will take place:

Health District One

  1. Egbe Idimu (Alimosho LGA)
  2. Ifako-Ijaiye LGA Secretariat
  3. Ipaja PHC (Alimosho LGA)
  4. Agege Legislative Complex

Health District Two

  1. Kosofe LG (Papa area, Oworo)
  2. Bariga LCDA (Pedro)

Senior Special Assistant to Sanwo-Olu on Health, Dr Oreoluwa Finnih, explained that the programme was organised at the behest of the Governor to improve access to quality and efficient healthcare delivery at the grassroots as well as achieve universal health coverage, particularly in communities with less significant health coverage.
