The Lagos State Government has said that it will intensify efforts to regulate indoor smoking in the State, charging nightclubs, bars and restaurants to abide by extant laws on the matter.

The Lagos State Government has awarded a contract to Julius Berger to reconstruct the Alapere Pedestrian Bridge which collapsed weeks ago after being hit by a heavy-laden truck. The new design for the bridge will make ample provision for heavy duty and long trucks.

In the wake of stiff regulation for Bureau the Change (BDC) operators by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a prosecutor, who had charged three BDC operators for unlawful operation of forex operations, withdrew the case because his superiors asked him to discontinue the case.

The Lagos State Government has commenced the distribution of food packages for its workers, noting that the gesture was to ensure that they get necessary sustenance during the Ramadan period.

The Lagos State Government has said it is working on adopting the latest cheap groyne technology to preserve and protect coastline communities in Lagos State from going into extinction as a result of the impact of coastal erosion, per The Punch.
