Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned the Yaba Flyover Bridge Project, an essential part of the Lagos Red Line Rail Project, on Thursday.

Sanwo-Olu had disclosed during the kickoff of the Blue Line Rail Project in September that the Red Line Rail will start operation by the end of the year.

The Governor further stated that the Yaba Bus Station plays a crucial role in the state transportation network. He highlighted its connection to the Yaba Train Station which creates pedestrian-friendly areas, ultimately reducing commute time and enhancing the quality of life for Lagos residents.

“With the Yaba Flyover, seamless travel from Jibowu to Ojuelegba, Tejuoso to Muritala Muhammed way, and beyond becomes a reality. More to come with Ikeja Along, Oyingbo, and Mushin flyovers,” his statement read via his official X (formerly Twitter) page.

The Red line is part of the Lagos rail mass transit (LRMT) scheme. It is a 37 Kilometer rail route proposed to run from Agbado to Marina with 13 stations in Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, MMIA International, MMIA domestic, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, Ebute-Metta, Iddo, Ebute Ero, and Marina.
