Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday appointed Barrister Rekiya Olufunke Hassan as chairman of the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) following the recent passing of former chairman Hon. Oladotun Olakanle.
Sanwo-Olu shared the news on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, calling it a continuation of “good governance and leadership” and a testament to the resilience of Onigbongbo’s people.
Barrister Hassan, who previously led the Council’s Department of Agriculture and Social Services, now assumes the role as substantive chairman.
She expressed gratitude and pledged to build on her predecessor’s achievements while fostering unity among residents.
“I accept this honour and the responsibility it brings, with a commitment to serve my council diligently and make our party proud,” Hassan stated.
