The pedestrian bridge at Five Star bus stop, along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway, collapsed on Thursday. State emergency agency, LASEMA, said an unidentified truck carrying heavy equipment collided with the bridge, leading to its collapse.
The agency also noted that there were no reported injuries or deaths. In 2022, Guardian Newspaper reported on the precarious state of the bridge before it was renovated. “It’s sadly one of the most dangerous bridges in the world,” the newspaper said at the time.
