Oluremi Tinubu calls on first-time female farmers in Lagos to join gardening competition

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on first-time female farmers in Lagos State to participate in a new national competition titled “Every Home a Garden.”

“Get to work, and you know, grow something in your house. Some people will say I don’t have land but they call it smart farming. You can grow anything in a bucket. You know, just grow something,” she said in a video while launching the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to a post made by the Lagos State Government via its official X page on Tuesday, the “Every Home a Garden” competition offers a remarkable opportunity for participants to win a grand prize of 20 million naira.

The initiative aims to inspire and support women who are new to farming, encouraging them to start gardens in their homes and contribute to local food production.

On July 6, the First Lady, in a tweet via her official X account, showed off her garden at the State House residence to unveil the #EveryHomeAGarden competition.
