Residents of Apapa Local Government Area, precisely along Marine Beach Road, witnessed two fire outbreaks on Friday.
Fortunately, it was gathered that the fire outbreaks that lasted for a while before they were put out in the afternoon did not lead to any casualties.
Honey Well depot
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) via X, huge flames gutted a part of Honey Well depot located behind Lylipond, Apapa.
LASTMA added that the development caused considerable delays and disruptions to traffic flow as motorists were advised to exercise caution and patience when navigating the area.
However, operatives ensured accessibility on the road implementing traffic management measures to reduce the impact of the incident on commuters.
NNPCL depot
Another fire broke out at the new NNPC Terminal, formerly OVH, Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa.
As gathered by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the inferno resulted from a spillage of petroleum products within the perimeter of the tank farm.
Speaking on the fire, the director and chief executive officer of the service, Margaret Adeseye, told reporters that efforts to contain the situation with various emergency responders were in top gear.
Adeseye added that the fire was put out by the joint efforts of emergency responders coordinated by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, which, according to her, will allow for an investigation into the cause of the fire.
