The speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa on Thursday reiterated that the Nigerian constitution only recognises the 20 local government areas in Lagos and not the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The House is attempting to pass a law that will alter the status of LCDAs and put them under the 20 local government areas. “The LCDAs will perform any duty assigned by a Law of the Lagos State House of Assembly; and executive directives from the state government,” he said.
