Lagos has been selected to host the 2024 Fencing World Cup, with Charterhouse Lagos confirmed as the venue for the international event, scheduled for December 14 to 15, 2024.
Announcing the selection, Nigerian Fencing Federation President, Adeyinka Samuel highlighted the tournament’s potential to drive significant economic benefits, including increased global recognition, tourism, and local economic growth.
Samuel noted that hosting the Fencing World Cup presents a unique opportunity to promote fencing in Nigeria, providing a platform to develop local athletes and enhance sports infrastructure.
The event is also expected to draw global attention to Lagos, marking an important milestone in the country’s sports development and tourism expansion efforts.
