Why it matters: Improper building structures are common in Lagos and the state government has recently intensified a crackdown, demolishing shanties in different parts of the state. However, it is not clear whether such demolitions will are an effective solution to the problem.
Go deeper: A video of the demolition was shared on X by the commissioner of environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
