Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) has announced an update to their customer care contact centre numbers, aligning with the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) new National Numbering Plan (NNP).
This nationwide phone system revision aims to streamline telecommunication across the country.
Effective immediately, customers can reach IE’s general customer care at 02017000250 or 02012272940.
For users in locations serviced by both Ikeja Electric and another distribution company, a dedicated “Prestige” line is available at 02017000929 or 02012272941.
The new numbering format, introduced by NCC in 2023, aims to create a unified and efficient numbering system for the Nigerian telecommunications industry.
The plan involved assigning additional number ranges to fixed lines. The eight-digit format of fixed lines across the country was changed to a new 10-digit format with “02” as the prefix.
