Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned the Ikeja Overpass Bridge for public use.
At the commissioning of the six-hundred-and-twenty-meter bridge, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the successful completion of the bridge was a sign that governance was touching every nook and cranny of the state.
Sanwo-olu said the bridge would provide permanent solution to traffic along the Ikeja area and make life easier for the people.
In his remarks, Governor of Kwara State, Governor Abdul Rahman Abdulrazak who also witnessed the ceremony lauded policy consistency and progress in Lagos attributing it to the legacy of President Bola Tinubu.
The State Commissioner for transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi urged commuters, motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations..
Osiyemi warned that hawking and selling; use of bikes on the bridge remains prohibited.
On her part, the Managing Director of LAMATA, Engineer Abimbola Akinajo said the bridge was an essential part of the five over-passes along the red rail line apportioned to Lagos for construction and it is expected to improve mobility in Lagos and aid the economy as well.
