Human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), has called on Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to address the constant traffic congestion on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
Adegboruwa recounted his ugly experience over the gridlock he experienced on a recent journey from Ijebu Ode, highlighting the delays faced by residents and commuters of the area.
About 70% of the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Lagos State comes from the zone and has been neglected despite its economic significance, as reported in Sahara news.
“The VGC link bridge has been abandoned after Governor Babajide Sanwoolu secured his second term ticket. The 4th Mainland Bridge project has also been abandoned, for no cogent reason. The Lekki airport project is now in dreamland,” he said.
The senior lawyer advised the government to make all these abandoned projects a priority and demonstrate the government’s commitment to a balanced development across the state.
