LSWMO seals building in Agege for lacking toilet facilities

The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed a multi-room building in Agege after inspections revealed inadequate toilet facilities. The building’s residents relied on dilapidated pit latrines, with exposed faecal matter posing severe health risks.

In a statement, Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, emphasized the importance of sanitation and public health.

“Residents are strongly advised to adopt proper sanitation and hygiene practices to promote public health and environmental sustainability,” Wahab said, underscoring the state’s commitment to environmental health standards.

The LSWMO’s action is part of a broader campaign to ensure buildings across Lagos meet basic sanitation standards, especially in densely populated areas like Agege.
