Ikeja Record co-founder, Onyewuchi, to speak at Africa Media Festival in Kenya

The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Record, Mr. Ikechukwu Onyewuchi, is set to speak at the Africa Media Festival, a gathering of 650 media professionals from 18 African countries, in Nairobi, Kenya.

In its second edition, the Africa Media Festival is a gathering of African media players to discuss challenges facing media practice on the continent and how these media organisations are surmounting the peculiar struggles through innovation and digital technology.

The event holds from February 21 to 22, on the grounds of the Nairobi National Museums.

Ikeja Record was founded over a year ago to cover the business, politics and culture of Ikeja and its environs in Lagos, providing insight, analysis and commentary on Nigeria’s commercial hub.

Ikeja Record will be participating in a session titled Community Comes First: Innovating for Impact with Lessons from Three Media Initiatives in Nigeria, which also features two other media brands –  Omalicha Radio and Lavun Community Radio.

According to the organisers, Baraza Media Lab, “Ikeja Record, targeting Gen Z, has innovatively grown into a trendsetting community journalism platform in Lagos.

“It adeptly amplifies local voices, navigating digital challenges to engage young audiences on various matters, from lifestyle to local governance, demonstrating the evolving nature of community journalism in engaging and informing communities.

The Africa Media Festival 2024 is set to establish the foundations for revolutionary innovations with a mission to serve as a catalyst for transformation, cultivating optimism to reshape the African media landscape.
