Oladeinde Olawoyin, a Business and Economy Editor/Head of Premium Times, has expressed concern about the defacement of the newly constructed bridge in Ikeja, Lagos.

He shared a picture on Wednesday via his official X account, showing “Sale Rep Needed, N45,000. 08167229952” written on the bridge.

Olawoyin wrote, “A yet-to-be-officially-opened (I suppose) public infrastructure already defaced this badly. No consequences, nothing. We can’t fix our minds to get the big things right if we can’t get the small, simple things right.

“Ps: This here is Ikeja, Lagos, this morning.”

The journalist’s tweet garnered attention, with people urging the Lagos State Government to take action and arrest the offender.

Reactions from X users included suggestions like tracing the culprit, involving the police to call the provided number, and addressing the persistence of such defacement over weeks.

Here are some of the reactions culled from X (formerly Twitter):

@Dontee wrote, “@Mr JAGs please see this.. I belive the culprit can be traced cos this is wickedness.”

@IgorCalvaries commented, “Police can combat this. Call the number. Agree to meet up. Arrest the perpetrators and take them to court.”

@Josegram93 wrote, “It’s been there for weeks… Posters on walls of the bridge were washed off but new ones have been pasted.”

“Passed there yesterday and I was surprised heap of dirts already on the walk way,” @DaPunditOlaleve wrote.
