Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) has urged customers to utilize their payment channels for transactions as its offices are temporarily closed.

Ikeja Electric announced this on Wednesday on its X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the closure is due to the current indefinite strike action by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The strike,  which began on Tuesday, is to protest the alleged assault on NLC president Joe Ajaero in Imo state on November 1.

Various unions including the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have also joined the strike.
