Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned the Fresh Food Agro Market in Mushin, Lagos, as part of a new palliative scheme to aid low-income traders.
The initiative, shared on his X account, aims to enhance food production, processing, and marketing, ensuring affordable fresh produce for residents.
In a tweet, the Governor announced the Lagos Market Trader Money’s first phase, providing N50,000 grants to 15,000 traders across 57 local councils. This effort seeks to ease economic challenges and empower small businesses.
During the commissioning of the Fresh Food Agro Hub in Mushin, he emphasized its significance in expanding the food supply chain, improving logistics, and modernizing markets.
His tweet partly read, “I am grateful for the support and appreciation from traders and community leaders in Mushin. The completion of this market project and the launch of Lagos Market Trader Money is a step towards bettering the lives of our market communities.“
