Medical grievances: Healthcare workers in Lagos said they will observe a three-day warning strike this week over the non-implementation of a new salary structure. The strike is set to begin on Wednesday and end on Friday.
Infrastructure development: The state government said it is set to commission a number of projects this week. The projects include 36 roads, five bridges and a pedestrian bridge, all located across Lagos. You can find the list of roads here.
His Excellency cooking: Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attended the Lagos Food Festival on Sunday and said he had a good time. “The food festival isn’t just about fun; it’s a launchpad for culinary talent and innovation,” the Governor said.
Royal duties: The state government has installed Prince Abdulrasaq Akanni Musa as the Oba Alaiyeluwa, the Orikelu of Igbooye Kingdom in Epe local government.
Lucky break: The state fire service said it rescued a 63-year-old plumber from a deep well on Sunday morning at Agric Road in Egan-Igando.
Free money: The state government has presented cheques to 400 people to help them pay medical bills, school fees, house rent and support their business. It is not clear how these people were selected but government officials urged residents to engage the government via the CitizensGate app.
Drug trafficking: The national drug law enforcement agency, NDLEA, said it arrested a 65-year-old grandmother at Odunfa street, Lagos Island, for being in possession of 20.6 litres of codeine-based syrup.
Cheap food: The volume of rice being processed at the Lagos Rice Mill in Imota would be greatly increased to ensure that residents can buy rice at an affordable price, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Abisola Olusanya, said on Sunday.
New face: The state government has launched a new website in what appears to be part of its “Lagos Digital Service Platform” rebranding.
