Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) serve as the first point of contact for basic healthcare needs in a community. From routine checkups and immunizations to managing chronic conditions and maternal care, they ensure that they provide essential services close to home.
Notably, since the establishment of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, doctors in most PHCs across the state have also been trained to offer support and care to survivors of sexual assault.
Currently, in Lagos, there are over 325 PHCs across the 20 local government areas in the state. In Ikeja LGA, the reach of PHCs is quite extensive, with at least one facility present in almost every political ward.
