The Lagos State commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, has revealed plans to create more technical colleges and vocational centers across the State.
Alli-Balogun who disclosed this on Tuesday in Ikeja, emphasized that the efforts were part of the state government’s strategy to address the issue of out-of-school children.
The Commissioner explained that creating additional technical colleges is a key step to decrease the number of out-of-school children in Lagos.
“I have a mindset to boost the scope of technical and vocational education in the state in line with Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES agenda.
“We want to take as much out-of-school children from the streets, so that they can be in the school learning one skill or the other, be useful to themselves, society and even be employers of labour,” Alli-Balogun said.
