A 39-year-old man, Akinyemi Akintayo, who had evaded authorities for weeks, has been captured for assaulting police officers on December 8, 2023, in Lagos.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, made the announcement through a tweet on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“After weeks on the run, Akinyemi Akintayo aged 39yrs of Ayobo has been arrested and arraigned for his serious assault on police officers on December 8, 2023,” the tweet disclosed.
The arrest follows a disturbing video clip where Akintayo was caught assaulting an officer. He further proceeded to attack a second officer who was recording the incident.
