A student of Lagos State University (LASU), Aberejo Habeeblah Oladipupo, has emerged as the winner of the Don Etiebet Most Innovative Project Award for 2024, organized by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
Aberejo’s project, an attendance system using facial recognition and geofencing, won the best undergraduate project in Lagos State.
Representing LASU at the competition, Aberejo expressed pride in his university’s strong showing, as LASU also secured the third position. His colleague, Taofiq Akintunde, claimed the second runner-up spot.
“Representing LASU was a true honor,” Aberejo said, extending gratitude to his mentor, Professor Benjamin Aribisala, LASU Professor Enikuomehin, and the project’s sponsor, Chief Don Obot Etiebet, a former Minister of Petroleum.
