The state building control agency, LASBCA, said it has commenced the removal of shanties and illegal structures around NIPOST on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi.
The agency said the move was part of efforts to address environmental and security challenges in the area. According to Oki, this exercise is crucial for enhancing the urban landscape, safeguarding lives and properties, and improving the overall quality of life for residents.
“Despite several warnings and sufficient time given for compliance, illegal structures have continued to spring up in these areas, constituting a nuisance,” LASBCA chief, Gbolahan Oki, said.
He also stated that all necessary notices, including Quit and Demolition Notices, were duly served to the affected occupants before the removal of illegal structures and shanties.
