Lagos State launches diaspora real estate desk to support overseas Nigerians

The Lagos State Government has unveiled the Diaspora Real Estate Desk, a joint initiative by the Lands Bureau and the Office of Diaspora Affairs.

This desk is designed to assist Nigerians living abroad in navigating property transactions and documentation in Lagos, the Punch reported.

Reports indicate a growing interest in Lagos’ real estate market among diaspora Nigerians, particularly in high-end locations.

According to the state government, the initiative reflects Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to ensuring seamless, transparent, and trustworthy access to real estate services for the diaspora community.

Head of the Lagos State Office of Diaspora Affairs, Jermaine Sanwo-Olu leads the initiative alongside Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Lands Bureau, Kamar Olowoshago.

Speaking on the initiative, Jermaine Sanwo-Olu highlighted its potential to strengthen ties with Nigerians abroad.

“The Diaspora Real Estate Desk provides professional guidance, enabling the diaspora to invest confidently in Lagos’ real estate sector,” he said.

Olowoshago echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the desk’s role in protecting Nigerians abroad from scams.

“This initiative offers a reliable contact point for real estate services, ensuring their investments are safeguarded and legitimate,” he said.
