Lagos State Government has initiated the reconstruction of the Alapere/Estate Bus stop Pedestrian Bridge.
On December 8, 2023, a container truck collided with a pedestrian bridge in Alapere Estate, Ketu axis of Lagos.
Following a thorough Assessment and Integrity Test, the state government has opted for a new design, promising increased vehicular headroom for improved functionality. Preliminary works are already underway, marking the beginning of this crucial project.
According to Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Sanwo-Olu in a tweet on Monday, additional Traffic officers will be deployed to the area to ensure a smooth flow and safety for commuters during the construction.
Gawat also disclosed that renowned construction company, Messers Julius Berger, has been awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the bridge.
