The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat has received the accomplished Estonian slackliner and Guinness World Record holder, Jaan Roose.

Roose had recently demonstrated his extraordinary skill by walking on a rope across a bridge and railway tracks at the bustling CMS bus stop in Lagos.

The Deputy Governor revealed during the meeting with Roose that he was scared when he saw the three-time Guinness World Record holder walking on a rope.

“The first time I saw you, I was like oh my God, is he crazy?” Hamzat said to Roose in a video posted by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, on his X page.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, shed light on the broader purpose of the meeting on his X account on Friday.

“Deputy Governor @drobafemihamzat  met with Jaan Roose, the Estonian slack liner and Guinness World Record holder today.

“Slack-lining is a sport that can be a balance of training, recreation, and moving meditation.

“This project is to showcase the beauty of Lagos State and the Red Bull team is working together with Lagos State Government through the Lagos Safety Commission,” Omotoso’s tweet read.
