Itire-Ikate LCDA Chairman disburses N100m to residents

The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has distributed N100 million to empower around 1,000 residents and small-scale business owners through a large-scale economic support initiative.

According to Tribune Online, beneficiaries of the program included a wide range of community members: party leaders, members of opposition parties, traditional institutions, artisans, market traders, people with disabilities, vulnerable groups, religious leaders, and youth organisations. The disbursement event, held on Tuesday at the council premises, was attended by Arc. Hon. Lanre Okunola, a member of the House of Representatives, alongside other notable figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Apatira stated that the initiative aims to ease economic hardships faced by residents. Each beneficiary received N100,000, part of the total ₦100 million investment meant to uplift local livelihoods and strengthen economic stability.

“The financial aid is intended to directly improve the economic well-being of beneficiaries, empowering them and promoting local economic resilience,” Apatira said. “This support is expected to help beneficiaries expand their businesses or even launch new ventures, fostering growth and contributing to the overall economic vitality of Itire-Ikate LCDA.”

The program also included provisions for students, offering educational support to assist them in achieving their academic goals.

Acknowledging the structured disbursement process in place to ensure funds reach the intended recipients, Apatira underscored the initiative’s potential to make a lasting impact on the socio-economic welfare of the LCDA.

Arc. Lanre Okunola praised Apatira’s vision and commitment, noting that the program not only alleviates economic pressures but also builds trust and strengthens community support for the council’s leadership. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance and pledged to use the funds responsibly.
