Is FruityLife the best spot for fresh and nutritious meals in Lagos?

In a city like Lagos, where there is a large number of street food kiosks, fast food spots, and fine dining restaurants, it can be tricky to find food outlets dedicated to healthy meals.

However, FruityLife, a food outlet with over 10 branches in Lagos and famously known for having the best parfaits, appears to have carved a niche for itself by providing healthier meal choices.

We decided to try out one of their stores located in Omole phase one to find out if their meals are truly worth it.

If you agree or disagree with our ratings and would like to provide your own review, head over to our review form, leave your review for all 13 criteria and an Ikeja Record editor will be in touch. To maintain the integrity of our evaluation system, we do not accept or publish reviews from persons directly associated with the restaurants they are reviewing, including (but not limited to) owners, investors, and staff.

Menu Variety

FruityLife store offers a diverse selection of dishes catering to various dietary needs.

Their menu includes parfaits, fresh fruit salads, yoghurts, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, cleanser drinks, chicken wraps, and sandwiches.

For vegetarians, It is worth noting that FruityLife’s salad bowl comes with chicken, unless you specifically request for it to be removed.

For lactose-intolerant individuals, their salad bowls can be enjoyed with habanero dressing or avocado dressing instead of the usual creamy salad dressing.

Food Quality

We tried their prime nutty chocolate parfait, nutty classic parfait, chicken salad, strawberry yoghurt, hydro cleanser drink, and chicken sandwich.

We can attest that their parfaits are delicious. The chocolate parfait was a creamy yoghurt mixed with cocoa powder, generously topped with banana slices, coconut, apple, grapes, dried raisins, granola, cashew, and almond nuts.

The nutty classic parfait was our favourite. Its rich, creamy flavour, combined with coconut shavings, cashew nuts, almond nuts, banana slices, apple slices, raisins, and grapes, was a delight.

The chicken salad was also delicious. It comprised sliced carrots, sweet corn, diced cucumber, sliced cabbage, vegetables, and dried raisins. However, the chicken was a bit spicy and needed salt. The salad tasted fresh, and the vegetables were crunchy.

The chicken sandwich featured toasted bread filled with fresh vegetables and chicken. The taste was great, but it was too dry. It would be better with a creamy sauce or dressing. We tried it with their avocado dressing, which improved the taste and made it extra delicious.

We highly recommend their strawberry yoghurt. The rich strawberry flavour made it very enjoyable.

If you love cleanser drinks, you will enjoy their hydro cleanse wellness juice. This juice is a blend of cucumber, mint leaves, apples, and pineapple. The taste of cucumber and apples is prominent, while the mint leaves are subtle.

All their meals are refrigerated to keep them fresh and healthy.

However, we couldn’t buy their chicken wrap because they serve it cold and don’t have a microwave to heat it up. Meals like their chicken wraps and chicken sandwiches should have a warm or cold option for customers who prefer either.

Service

The staff at the FruityLife store were friendly. They greeted us with warm smiles and welcomed us as we placed our order.

Their professionalism was evident in their knowledge of the menu and dietary needs. They offered us recommendations and suggestions.

We decided to eat in the store, and the staff were helpful in bringing our meal to our table. They were also efficient in packing up our order when it was time for us to leave.

Also, from our observations, the staff handled pick-up orders efficiently, preparing them promptly without compromising quality.

Ambience

Most FruityLife stores are usually small kiosks, but this doesn’t affect the quality of their interior design.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with a friend.

The seating area at the Omole phase one location can accommodate only two sets of people, as they have just two tables and chairs.

The seating is comfortable, and the layout is thoughtfully arranged to accommodate both small groups and individuals.

The tables, counters, and floors were spotless and well-maintained. During our visit, a male customer was working on his laptop while eating. After he left, the staff were swift in clearing his table, ensuring a hygienic environment for all customers.

Value for Money

FruityLife offers food and service quality that justifies the prices charged. The prices for their products depend on the size of what you order.

A large cup of the classic nutty parfait costs N3,100, and the prime nutty chocolate parfait costs N4,200. The chicken salad costs N2,600, the chicken sandwich costs N1,800, and the strawberry yoghurt bottle costs N2,100. Their hydro cleanser drink costs N1,900, and any extra salad dressing costs N300 per cup.

According to their website, their products are 100% natural and made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. While the prices at FruityLife might be slightly higher than average, they reflect the premium quality of both the food and service.

The presentation of the food wasis appealing, and the portion sizes wereare generous. We found the value received to be worth the cost, combined with the pleasant dining environment and great service.

Hygiene Standards

The Omole Phase One branch maintained a high standard of cleanliness across all areas, including the serving counter and dining area.

The serving counter was immaculate, and the staff wore hair nets to cover their heads, following strict hygiene practices to ensure food safety.

The dining area was also clean, with the staff wiping down the tables and chairs after each use. We also noticed that the floors were swept and mopped frequently to maintain a tidy environment.

Location

The locations of all FruityLife outlets are strategically chosen for convenience. They are usually situated in places like Ikeja City Mall or supermarket areas like Justrite Superstore, making them easily accessible by public transportation and close to major roads.

Parking availability at the Omole branch is ample because it is located within a Justrite Superstore compound.

The store at this branch was designed with accessibility in mind. The entrance is easy to navigate, and the layout inside accommodates customers with mobility needs, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone.

We tried their Abule-Egba branch and can confirm that their parfait and yoghurt had the same fresh taste as the ones in Omole phase one. This proves that the store maintains stringent quality control measures, ensuring that ingredients are always fresh and dishes are prepared to the same high standard.

Their consistency in both food and service quality helps build trust and loyalty among customers, making FruityLife a dependable choice for healthy and fresh meals.

However, they use single-use plastics for their parfait and sandwich packaging.

Waiting Time

At FruityLife, there is virtually no waiting time for seating and service because all meals and drinks are pre-packaged and stored in a fridge, ready to go.

It took us about five minutes to place our order because we were deciding what to get. If you already know what you want, it takes less than two minutes to order at the counter.

This setup allows customers to select their dishes and have them immediately available for takeout or quick dining. The convenience of this system ensures a seamless and efficient experience, ideal for those with busy schedules or seeking a fast yet healthy meal option.

Online Presence and Ease of Reservations
