The Nigerian power distribution company, Ikeja Electric has approved the migration of 34 additional feeders to Band A service.
This was announced in a statement issued via its official X account on Friday, disclosing that the decision comes in recognition of Ikeja Electric’s demonstrated ability to maintain a minimum of 20 hours of daily availability, surpassing industry standards.
“Premised on our demonstrated ability to provide a minimum of 20 hours daily availability through an evaluation period monitored by the Regulator, we are pleased to announce approval to add 34 additional Band A feeders to our network,” the tweet read.

On April 3, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) approved an increase in electricity tariff.
This increment affects only customers under service band A category which are those who enjoy 20-24 hour electricity supply per day.
