In response to years of persistent power outages in Badagry Constituency 1, the Lagos State House of Assembly has directed its Committee on Energy and Mineral Resources to investigate the issue, seeking a permanent solution to the area’s chronic electricity problems.
The directive came after Bonu Solomon, the representative for Badagry Constituency 1, raised the matter in the House as one of “urgent public importance.”
Solomon highlighted that the power blackout, which has plagued the area for years, continues to disrupt the lives of residents, businesses, and essential services across Badagry.
The House Committee Chairman on Energy and Mineral Resources, Oluwa Sabur, expressed optimism that the investigation would lead to a lasting solution, noting that the House had passed the Lagos State Electricity Bill, which would be implemented immediately after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu assents to it.
