Federal lawmakers visit erosion-prone areas

The erosion-prone areas visited include Orimolade Street, off College Road; Alade Bucknor Estate, off Fagba Road; Sango Toll Gate Bridge, Lagos/ Abeokuta Expressway; Maidan/Agiliti area of Ketu and Agboyi Ketu area of the state.

A delegation of the House of Representatives’ committee on ecology funds visited parts of the state to gain first-hand experience of some erosion-prone areas. The committee said it will ensure all communities affected by erosion are adequately catered for. The erosion-prone areas visited include Orimolade Street, off College Road; Alade Bucknor Estate, off Fagba Road; Sango Toll Gate Bridge, Lagos/ Abeokuta Expressway; Maidan/Agiliti area of Ketu and Agboyi Ketu area of the state.

Speaking to the press, Vice Chairman Hon. Oyedeji Oyeshina stated that the Federal Government had opted to pause the use of the Ecological Funds to allow the committee to conduct a comprehensive assessment and provide guidance on the appropriate disbursement of funds to the states.
