Ex-Konga CEO reportedly dies by suicide in Lekki residence

 

Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading e-commerce companies, has reportedly died by suicide.

The incident took place at his apartment in Lekki. 

Before his death, Imudia reportedly called his brother in the United States, giving specific instructions on how to distribute his assets. He also contacted his young daughter to reassure her that he would always be with her.

According to the online platform, TheWill, friends, family, and associates of Nick Imudia are still in shock and struggling to understand why he would commit suicide.

At the time of his death, Nick Imudia was the CEO of d.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions.

Following his tragic death, d.light released a statement announcing that the company’s co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Nedjip Tozun, has been appointed interim CEO.

“Nedjip, who previously served as d.light’s CEO from March 2015 until October 2022, will assume the responsibilities immediately to ensure continuity in the company’s operations,” the statement read.

“Nick was a dear friend and a valued colleague who will be greatly missed by everyone at d.light. All our thoughts are with Nick’s family, friends, and loved ones during this very difficult time,” said Tozun.
