Eko Laws Project: Lagos state launches app for residents’ legal literacy

The Lagos state government has launched an app containing all its updated laws to improve access to legal literacy for the general public.

The laws on the user-friendly app are available in a simplified English version, with Yoruba language and pidgin.

Jubril A. Gawat, a senior special assistant on new media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed this new development via X on Wednesday.

Gawat said he represented the commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, at the EKO LAWS Project press briefing, held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Center, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.

According to Gawat, the project was done by Team ‘ACE’ of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) under its Capstone Project.

He noted that the Capstone Project is a fundamental component of the LJLA’s activities, where the fellows are divided into two teams to proffer innovative solutions to societal challenges in Lagos state.

The second team, ‘Impact’ is also handling another project which will be made public soon.
